Mothers Day Gift Guide

Hi Guys,

Mother's Day Season is starting soon (different countries have different Mother's days. Sorry if this has gone up after Mother's day in your country), but I thought I would share with you some ideas for what you could get your mother.  I have ideas for you, if you are on a budget or willing to splurge on something for your mum.

Fragrances

You could purchase a fragrance you know she loves, or one she is about to run out. She may have mentioned she tried a new scent and she liked it. You could surprise her buying for her that particular scent.

Candle

This is a super versatile present, as you could buy something like Yankee Candles or Bath and Body Works or you could buy something a bit more luxurious such as Jo Malone Or Diptique.

Handbag or Purse

If you want to splurge, you could buy a handbag.  But if you want something not overly expensive, then you could get her a coin purse or a more expensive key ring.

Event

You might not necessarily buy her something, but instead spend the day with her, shopping or go out for a meal.

Gift Card

Gift Cards are great if you are really stuck for ideas. Get her one for her favorite shop or shopping center.

Beauty

You could buy your mum a nice new make up product or a nice gift set. Maybe buy her some nice high end products.

Cooking

Get your mum some cook books or buy her a new tool to use in the kitchen.

If you want to offer her something special than make her something which will mean a lot to her.

The main message which I am trying to get across is that if you buy your mum something that you thought about, something she would like this is the most important thing. If you don't buy her anything, just spent time with her, make her a meal. Spending time with her is the most important thing, but adding a little gift is always nice.

If you would like some more ideas then check out these two videos.

Don't forget the card!
I hope this helped you with some ideas as to what you could get your mum.
See all next week with another blog post.

Cooking with Becky- Baked Alaska

Hey Guys,

Today I am coming to you with another recipe. I am sharing with you how to make "Baked Alaska". If you are not familiar with it, is a sponge cake with ice cream  on top. The sponge and the ice cream flavor can be of your choice. The exciting part of this cake is the meringue over the top, which can be challenging to master. I made the chocolate version which turned out really good. Here is the link to the recipe I used.

I hope to try out this recipe and like it.

Cooking With Becky- Healthy Breakfast Ideas

Hello Everybody,

Sorry for the not posting this on Wednesday which is my usual posting day. Today I am going to be sharing with you some healthy breakfast ideas. I have 4 ideas for you. All the recipes shown are made to serve 1 person.

Let's start with one of my favorites

Egg Crepes

  • 2 large eggs
  • 2tbsp double cream
  • 1tsp oil
Blend all the ingredients together with a blender. Heat a pan with a small amount of oil. Pour the mixture in a pan. When it starts to come away from the edges, carefully turn over with a spatula.
Place onto a plate and repeat with all the mixture. You could eat it with honey, yogurt, jam, peanut butter, fruit, cinnamon.

Next is Porridge or Oatmeal

I like buying ready flavored porridge and making it with almond milk, but you could have plain porridge with honey and berries. Here is another way of making porridge:

Yogurt

You could add to yogurt so many different things. I like adding cereal or granola and fruit with honey, but you can literally add anything you like.

Here is a video on how making your own granola

Last, but not least is my healthy smoothie.

You will need:
1 kiwi
A few kale leaves
100g Strawberries
chia seeds
100 ml Almond milk

Cut your kiwi and strawberries into small pieces and then place all your ingredients in a blender and blend. And there you have it, a super healthy smoothie.

If you still want some ideas then check out this video which gives you three more breakfast ideas.

And there you have it easy, healthy breakfast ideas.

See you all next Wednesday with the Febuary look.

Hello Everybody,

Today I am sharing with you some yummy, yet healthy recipes. Which I have placed my tried and tested mark on.
You could make this for lunch or dinner.

Tricolor Salad

Serves 2

200g of Cherry Tomatoes
1 Ripe Avocado
1 Big Ball of Buffalo Mozzarella
Few Leaves of Basil
Pinch of salt
2 tps of olive oil

Wash your tomatoes, then cut them in half. Peel and pit your avocado, then cut them into small cubes. Drain your mozzarella and cut them into small cubes. Place all your chopped items into a bowl, tear the basil and make sure you don't chop it because it will bruise. Add your salt and olive oil and mix well.
And enjoy.

Pesto Pasta with Chicken

Serves 2

200g of Fresh pasta of your choice
150g of fresh good quality pesto
50g of pine nuts.
2 small chicken breasts
Salt and pepper to taste

Wash and cut your chicken into small cubes. Then grill them. This could be done on a grill or non-stick pan. Then leave to the side. Boil some water, place it in a pot and add the pasta with some salt. Boil to package instructions. While it is boiling, place the pine nuts in a small pan and let them roast until they darken in color. Drain your pasta, then place it back in the pot and add your pesto, pine nuts and chicken and mix over the heat.  Enjoy. If you want to make it extra good you can serve with some garlic bread.

Poartabella Mushrooms with Goat Cheese

Serves 2

4 Portabella Mushrooms
4 Slices of Goats Cheese
1 tbs of Chopped Walnuts

Fry the mushrooms in olive oil, the mushrooms will leave a lot of water don't panic it's normal.  When this is done place the mushrooms bottom side up and place the goat cheese on them. Leave them in the oven until the chesses is bubbling. Remove from heat and place on the bed of salad. Sprinkle the walnuts, olive oil, salt and Enjoy!
