Becky's Travel Post - London Travel Guide

I am super exited to start this new theme on my blog. One of my favourite hobbies is traveling, and I really wanted to incorporate it in my blog. So, today I thought I would start it all of with a travel guide for what to do if you are going to visit London. This is the first blog in a trilogy of posts, so keep your eye out for the next two coming in the next two weeks. Ok, let's get cracking.

There are a few things London is known for that everyone wants to see. I am going to structure this post in days. I this way you can see what you can do in a day depending on the area. Also if you are not staying for a week and just for a few days, I am going to put the must do things first. Also you can mix up what you do and when depending on the weather.
Lets get started. If you are straying a week or more then you may be interested in getting a London Pass which will let you gain access to many attractions, at a cheaper price.

Day 1- Westminster.

Take a stroll down Southbank, and admire the view, in the summer there is also a snog bus which has amazing frozen yogurt. Then if you organise your trip ahead (6 months or so) you could visit the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. If not, then it is worth visiting Westminster Abbey  with an audio guide as it has a fascinating history. Then, why not go and visit the Supreme Court Of Justice which is just opposite the Abbey. Then you can find something to eat around Embankment or on Southbank. Take a stroll down Whitehall where you can see Downing Street, and the other Departments of the Government. You will also come across Horse Guard Parade which you can visit. Whitehall will lead you directly to Trafalgar Square. From there you have three choices: the first one is to go to St James Park, or head to Covent Garden, via Leicester Square or you could visit the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery.

Day 2- Palace Day

First at 11:15 am its the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace. If you want a good view then I would recommend coming at around 10:30am or earlier. It lasts about an hour. Then if visiting in the summer months it is worth going and visiting the Palace itself. Then take a stroll though Green Park all the way to Hyde Park corner where you can hire bikes  from inside Hyde Park. Cycle down to Kensington Palace passing The Royal Albert Memorial and The Royal Albert Hall. Then dock your bikes and visit Kensington Palace .

Day 3- City Of London

Start your day by visiting St Paul's Cathedral, then take the tube or walk to Tower Of London, where I would recommend going on a free tour they offer there to find out more about the history of the tower. Then after you have explored the tower head over Tower Bridge close by, where you get a great view of London. If there is still time you could go explore Tate Modern Or The Globe Or HMS Belfast .

Day 4- Museum Day

 Start your day in South Kensington by visiting the three museums situated there: Natural History Museum,  Science Museum and The V&A . Then walk to Harrods and Knighsbridge. I would recommend this route on a rainy day.

Day 5-  The British Museum 

This can take you up to a whole day as it is very big. So, I have dedicated a day to it. If you finish in there early enough then you could go visit the British Library which is close by.

Day 6- Option Day

If you went on day one to Covent Garden then you could visit Notting Hill and Portobello Market. If not then you could go to Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square and Covent Garden. If booked in advance, you may be able to book a tour to visit the Royal Opera House.

Day 7- Your Choice

There are a few things left to do in London, so I have left it free for you to decide. Here are a few things you could do:

Go shopping on Oxford Street/Regents Street.

Go to Baker Street to the Sherlock Holmes Museum and Madame Tussauds 

Go to Hampton Court

Apart from the things mentioned I would recommend going to any West End Show. Here are a few of my favourites:

Becky's Product Reviews- Louboutin Nail Polish

I was lucky enough to receive this exquisite Rouge Louboutin Nail Polish nail polish for Christmas and I have been trying it out since. Want to know my thoughts on it? Keep reading.

This is the most exciting and different nail polish packaging I have ever seen. You may think that the long applicator may be annoying. In fact it's actually useful as makes painting your nails easier, because it feels like you are holing a paint brush. Now let's talk about the actual product itself. You can easily get away with just one coat but I always apply two as it provides a really lovely thick opaque colour, very easily. After painting my nails I did not feel the need to add a top coat as this nail polish left your nails really shiny and they lasted around 7 days before I feel I needed to redo them. Overall this is a fabulous nail polish, it's a great present idea and also a great treat for all you nail polish lovers out there. However if you do not feel like spending so much money on a nail polish then don't worry there are some great cheaper nail polishes out there for you . This nail polish retails for £36. 

Overall I would rate this product a 4.5/5 just because of its hefty price tag.

Review- Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

When my last night time lip balm ran out, I started scanning the internet for a new lip balm. The result of that investigation was that most bloggers out there recommend this product. So, I gave it a try. This product retails for £9 at Space NK .

Quick warning, this packaging was limited edition, however this does not affect the product inside. The product is very thick, perfect for a very dry lips. I find myself applying it before bed and waking up with my lips still feeling moisturised, furthermore during the day my lips stay hydrated and I find I do not need to keep reapplying lip balm during the day.  This product would be great for anyone with dry or flaky lips and it is extremely moisturising. Plus to top this off, it has a very nice subtle smell of lemon. Overall this is my new holy grail lip balm for night time. I would highly recommend this product to everyone and anyone. So, to answer the question. Yes, it is worth the hype.

Review- Body Shop Mojito Range

Body Shop recently came out with a new collection, the Mojito Range. It contains 5 products in the range and I managed to test out 3 of them. So, today I am going to tell you what I made of the products I tried.

 

As you can see from the photos, the products I tried out where the shower gel, body sorbet and body butter. The miniature shower gel and body butter came in a gift set, along with the luffa.

The shower gel -£4 

I loved this shower gel. I am a fan of body shop shower gel in general as it, lathers very well, you only need very little when you use a luffa and it's got a very powerful scent that does not linger afterwards. So, if you don't think you will like this citrus, refreshing scent, then you can try another scent from body shop as the shower gel will be the same.

The body sorbet - £8

This was a new product for me as I had never tried it before. I thought it would be great for the beach, which it was. It's very refreshing, great to use after you've been in the sun all day. What I liked about it was that it does not leave you feeling greasy or sticky, it absorbs into your skin really quickly. Love this product, I would use it more in the summer as it very light. I have already bought a back up of this and the shower gel.

The body butter -£13

This is a thick intensive moisturiser. If your skin is dry this is the product for you. I would recommend using this when you get back from holiday and start to peel as it will maintain your tan just a bit longer.  I would say this is better for winter, as it does take a bit of time to sink into your skin.

The other two products in the range are a body splash and a body scrub, which I have not tried.
Overall I love this range. I am a big fan of this fragrance and I love the products in the range. I would highly recommend going and checking this range out before it goes, as it is limited edition. If you can only try one product I would recommend the body sorbet or the shower gel.

Becky's Book Review-Girl Online By Zoe Sugg

Last Christmas I received  this book as a gift, from a friend and only recently I got the chance to read it. I thought I would share my opinions on the book with you guys.

I don't want to give to much of the plot away, but it is about this girl called Penny who writes a blog "Girl Online". Things change when her family goes to New York and she meets Noah, and the adventure really begins. That's all I am going to say about the plot. 

My thoughts on the book. 

I loved it. It was an easier read and I think it would make the perfect beach read, as it is a romantic book. This book puts a smile on your face and made me feel in a better mood after reading it. I would say it is a light and fun read and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good, entertaining read. I would definitely recommend checking it out on amazon or at your local book shop.
