Traveling with Becky- Athens

Today I thought I would share with you what I thought of my latest travel destination, Athens. I went at the beginning of this month which I think is a perfect time to visit as it is warm, but not too hot. This destination is good for if you want a short break or a longer holiday. If you are planning to have a short break then you can fit in all the must sees. While if you have a longer 1 week holiday then you can take things at a slower pace, and you will never get bored. So, lets get started.

Must Sees
  • The Acropolis
  • The Acropolis Museum ( which I recommend seeing before the actual Acropolis )
  • The Benaki Museum ( free entrance on Thursday)
  • The National Gardens
  • Lykavittos ( the higher point in Athens)
  • Plaka
Things to see if your having a longer holiday
  • Hydra, Poros and Aegina - on a one day boat cruise.
  • The Museum of Cycladic Art
  • Bema ( for an amazing view of the Acropolis and a nice walk)
  • Temple of Olympian Zeus
  • Byzantine Museum
  • Marathon Lake
Those are a few things I recommend visiting. Now for the food or things to try:
  • Oikeio Restaurant
  • Chez Michel
  • Efcharis
  • Try their Fresh Orange Juice
  • Greek Coffee
Other useful information:

They have a very good underground which is very easy to use, taxies are also cheap to use.
I highly recommend Athens, I loved it. So, enjoy yourself if you are planning to go.
For any beauty lovers then you have to check out Korres, they have their products in most pharmacies and they also have a store. I will definitely be going back.

I hope this was helpful for you guys. I hope you consider going and if you do, enjoy.

Nail Detox

Last month I gave my nails a nail detox. Now you may be wondering what that means and thats what I am going to explain to you in this blog post. I think it's really important to care for your nails as much as you would for your face. This is why I decided to give my nails a detox, no nail polish for a month. This allowed my nails to breath and repair as they were quite damaged.
Now you may be wondering why you would need a detox for your nails.Well, because, if like me, you are a fan of having your nails done, either with gel, shellac, acrylic or just normal polish, then you will know that your nails can be damaged, and if we constantly redo our nails for an extended period of time then they have no time to breath and grown healthily. For one month no polish or any thing coating your nails, let them breath and you will see a difference in your nails. I recommend doing this at least 3 times a year to make sure your nails stay healthy.

I hope this has helped you out, and you have found out something new. Remember, your nails are just as important as your skin.

Seasonal Favourites - Winter 2015

Another season is coming to an end, so today I am sharing with you some of the things I have been loving in the last few month.

Kerastase Nectar Thermique

Recently I have been styling my hair a lot more, so I wanted some protection for my hair. I love this, it's really light weigh. Highly recommend.

Burberry Body Perfume

I received this for Christmas and I have been reaching for it a lot recently. It's a fresh perfume and great for everyday.

Clarins Instant Light Lip Comfort Oil

I have being using this on a daily basis, it feels really luxurious on your lips while giving them gloss and really hydrating them.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

A must have product for me. I always apply this before I go to bed. Best lip balm ever, to apply at night, very thick and moisturising.

Nuxe Reve de Miel Night cream

I use this as a night cream and it works exactly like the lip balm, but just for the face. Great night cream.

The Detox Kitchen bible

I have being using this book nearly every day. It has some really healthy, yet tasty recipes. Really love this book.

Madeline Shaw Website

If I have not been cooking from the Detox Kitchen book, then I have been using her website for recipes. She has some amazing recipes on her website which you have to check out.

Well that's all for now. I will see you all very soon. I hope this has helped you out.

Skiing 101

The skiing season is in full swing now, so I thought I would share a few tips for new skiers, to have a fab experience skiing. I hope these tips help some more advanced skiers as well. Let's get started:

Before your trip.

Things to prepare before you leave. Make sure you have all your ski gear ready and by that I mean:

  • ski coat
  • trousers
  • fleeces
  • thermal
  • sport bras
  • ski socks
  • goggles
  • gloves
  • balaclava
  • ski head band
  • sunglasses
  • helmet ( you can rent these at the ski resort, but I prefer to have my own)
  • ski boots ( These are not necessary to buy unless you know you will regularly go skiing)
  • suncream
  • make up ( check out my post here all about what to take skiing)
  • wellies ( work great as they are waterproof) or snow boots
  • hand and feet warmers
Some of my favourite brands brands are: Sweaty Betty do some really good ski gear. Snow and Rock are great, so is Decathlon. I love Falke thermals they are really great, but I recently bought some heat tech stuff from Unqlo which I will be putting to the test soon. Another tip, if you need to buy a coat then make sure it has a pocket on the arm for the ski pass.

On your ski trip

Once you have rented all your gear then make sure you alway have your ski pass in your coat arm. I also like to carry in my coat, lip balm, tissues, phone, cash and my sunglasses. These are all the things I take with me on the slopes. Also if you have a card for your room key don't put it in the same pocket as your ski pass as you may loose one when you take it out. I recommend if you are a beginner, going to ski school or having a private instructor. Don't just go by yourself on the slopes if you have never skied before, it can be very dangerous. I would also recommend always wearing suncream even if the weather is not great. Don't be scared if you fall over, it happens to everyone, it's part of learning. Practice. If you have a lesson in the morning practise what you learned in the afternoon. Being able to ski well takes time. DON'T GIVE UP, YOU CAN DO THIS.

Those are my tips for you guys, I hope you have a fab trip if you are going skiing, stay safe and enjoy. I can't really give any advice about snowboarding as I am not a snowboarder myself. I hope this helps some of you out. If you want some more in detail then check out Lily Pebbles blog for more tips.

Simple Everyday Makeup - Makeup Menu

Today I thought I would share with you my everyday makeup. It's super quick and looks very natural, so lets get started.

Base

For base I use normally just concealer. The one I am currently using is the Nars Radiant Creamy concealer, as it works as an all in one concealer. However if I do want a bit of coverage I use the Chanel Healthy Glow, it works as a tinted moisturiser perfectly. To set everything, I use the Soap and Glory one heck of a blot powder which sets everything perfectly. For blush I love the Chanel Blush in  Innocence, very natural and goes with any look.

Eyes

For primer I use the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Sin, to set everything in place. Then, I would, most days use the Dior Eye Reviver Palette and use the second and/or third shade. Then either use a liquid liner like the Dior one or I use a more subtle one like the Sephora One in Iced Mocha. Then I add a bit of mascara, the one I am currently loving is the Clinique High Impact Mascara

Lips

I normally stick to something very natural like the Sephora lip gloss in Rose Petal or the Clarins Lip Oil which give a nice gloss to the lips.

And that's it make up done super easy, I hope this helped you out.

Thanks for reading.

Health Edit #1

I thought I would start this new series talking about everything healthy: eating, fitness, lifestyle. Today I  thought would share some tips and recipes.

First it's my Salmon Salad

1 bag of your favourite type of salad.
Ready cooked salmon
Sweet Chilli Sauce
Handful of Walnuts
Splash of Olive Oil

Smash you salmon into small chunks, toss all your ingredients into a bowl, place as much chilli sauce as you like. Mix it all together and your done. Super easy and tasty.

Tricolour Salad

1 Avocado
500g Cherry Tomatoes
1 Big Mozzarella Ball

Cut up you ingredients and splash a bit of olive oil with a pinch of salt.

Here are my two very easy recipes. Now for some tips:
  • Switch up normal pasta with wholegrain, its healthier and fills you up more.
  • Try mixing some of your favourite ingredients with quinoa.
  • Try making energy balls for snacks, they are really filling and can be made with a bunch of different things.
Now for some of my favourite healthy eating inspiration.

I hope this has helped you out and if you like them I can do them on a more regular basis.

See you all next week with a new post. If you have anything you would like to see just leave me a comment below.

Review- Erin Condren Life Planner

As it is the New Year, I know that some of you are going to be changing your diaries or agendas, so I thought that I would share with you my throughs on the Erin Conrad Life Planner. Let's get started.

I bought the personalised metallic Life Planner, in turquoise colour, with vertical weekly layout. I personally think this is a great planner if you want something to keep on your desk as it is very big diary and I think that is very impractical to carry it around. I really wish they made a smaller version, as that would make it must more practical. I also think that if you want a creative layout then this would be awesome for you as it really to easy personalise. Personally I think it is on the pricier side considering that it's not leather, it's just plastic. It comes with a few stickers and a perpetual calendar. You get a monthly spread and then a weekly spread, with 3 boxes each day which you can use for whatever you want. However I have now stopped using it, not because I don't like, but because I have gone digital with my diary, which it is much easier for me to use. I also want to add that I got a very good customer service and I love the brand as a whole. I do own a notebook from them which I use all the time.

Overall great planner if you don't want to take it around with you. Also they have very good international shipping.

Thats all for today, I hope that helped you out if you were thinking of buying it. I will see you all next week, with a new post.

Becky xoxo
